Thymus Vulgaris Extract comes from the Thyme plant. Both the flowers and leaves are used for medicinal purposes and in cooking. The flowers are antiseptic, sedative, and have disinfectant properties.The leaves of the thyme plant are fragrant and and can be used fresh or dried to season a variety of culinary dishes. Thymus Vulgaris Extract and thymol have been used in cough mixtures and mouthwashes, as well as for skin conditions, especially fungal infections. Clinical trials are lacking to support these uses.
