What is Vitamin B9 Folic Acid?

Folic acid is a derivative of pteridine, originally isolated from the liver and later found to be abundant in the green leaves of plants, hence the name folic acid. It is widely found in meat, fresh fruits, vegetables, yellow crystalline powder, tasteless and odorless, its sodium salt soluble in water, insoluble in alcohol and ether and other organic solvents, insoluble in cold water but slightly soluble in hot water. Unstable in acidic solutions and easily destroyed by light.

This product is yellow or orange crystalline powder, odorless, tasteless. Insoluble in water, ethanol, acetone or ether, soluble in alkali hydroxide or carbonate.

Application of Vitamin B9 Folic Acid:

1.When folic acid was added, the daily gain of piglets in the whole period was significantly higher than that in the basal diet group, the protein concentration in serum, the DNA, RNA and protein contents in liver were significantly increased, and the urea nitrogen concentration in serum was significantly decreased, which improved the growth performance of piglets.

2. In the tissue metabolism of high-yield dairy cows, folic acid and choline can provide a carbon group for energy and protein metabolism, purine and DNA synthesis, so as to improve the production performance of dairy cows.

3. Folic acid can be used in the medical field. 0.4 mg of folic acid is used to prevent fetal neural tube malformations, 5 mg of folic acid is used to treat anemia in women.
