Cornus officinalis extract is a kind of astringent medicine, which is extracted from the mature pulp. Solubility: it is very easy to dissolve in water, less soluble in 96% ethanol, slightly soluble in absolute ethanol, almost insoluble in ether, ethyl acetate, acetone and chloroform. Appearance: white crystalline powder with high content of monomer. With the increase of loganin content, it gradually becomes light from reddish brown to light yellow, which is amorphous powder.

Loganin belongs to iridoid glycosides, which is one of the main effective components in Cornus officinalis. Loganin has been regarded as one of the quality control indexes of Cornus officinalis in Chinese Pharmacopoeia since 2005, which stipulates that the content of loganin should not be less than 0.6%.  

Function:
 

1.Improve the cardiovascular system

  Dogwood extract can improve heart function, increased myocardial contractility and cardiac output, and improve the efficiency of the heart work.
 

2. Impact on the immune system

  Dogwood extract different components of the immune system, the decoction reduces the phagocytic function of the reticuloendothelial system, due to inhibition of SRBC or DNCB (2,4 - Dinitro chlorobenzene) delayed-type hypersensitivity, inhibition of T lymphocyte activation. 
 

3. Anti-inflammatory, antibacterial

  Dogwood extract can reduce inflammatory exudation and tissue edema and granulation tissue formation, dogwood extract has strong inhibition on Staphylococcus epidermidis, Enterococcus Staphylococcus aureus, Shigella.
 

4.Anti-stress, anti-oxidation, lipid-lowering

  Dogwood extract can enhance the body's resistance to stress, improve hypoxia tolerance, resistance to fatigue, and enhance memory. Dogwood extract also can reduce serum triglycerides, cholesterol content, anti-atherosclerosis.
